Kit Description: Materials for capillary collection of blood for lead testing
Collection Instructions: The procedure for collecting finger stick (capillary) blood lead specimens are included in the kit. Specimen collectors should thoroughly familiarize themselves with the collection procedure before collecting patient specimens. Additional copies are available from the Wisconsin State Laboratory of Hygiene (WSLH) by calling (608) 224-6252. Specimens are stable for several days if held at room temperature and for weeks at refrigerated temperatures. The WSLH staff can also answer questions regarding collection kits, collection procedure, and result interpretation.
